The FCA's record
Smart-ISA is not authorised by the FCA, which considers that it may be targeting people in the UK.
The entry lists the websites smart-isa.co and smart-isa.cc and the mobile numbers 07441 996332 and 07441 947399. It also gives four email addresses across the two domains: a support address and three in the names of individual members of staff.
What the absence of authorisation means
Savers who deal with Smart-ISA would have no access to the Financial Ombudsman Service, and money lost to the firm would fall outside the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
If money has already been paid by bank transfer, the bank that sent it should be told straight away, because transfers made to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be reimbursed under the Payment Systems Regulator's rules.
Only a firm approved by HMRC can provide an ISA, and HMRC publishes the list of approved managers on GOV.UK every month. Smart-ISA does not appear on the list published on 1 October 2026, and neither of its web addresses ends in .co.uk. Before opening or transferring an ISA in response to an approach, the provider should be found on HMRC's list and on the FCA Register, and the receiving account confirmed in that provider's name through Confirmation of Payee.
