MetaAshes

Partnerships for firms that look after client money

Independent Fraud Verification for Your Client Network

Offer your clients and your team an independent assessment of any investment firm that approaches them, under one annual licence. Each assessment tests the details a client has been given against official records and returns a documented result.

Claims are easy to make. Evidence is hard to fake.

Sample report for a fictional firm, in place of any customer result.

Why this matters

Investment Fraud Cost Victims £221.5 Million in 2025.

UK Finance recorded 14,893 investment scam cases in 2025, with losses rising by 40% year on year. MetaAshes gives firms a practical way to help clients scrutinise an investment firm before they commit their money.

For FCA-regulated firms

Your duty reaches the scams your clients face

The Consumer Duty requires you to avoid foreseeable harm to retail customers, and investment scams are among the best-documented risks your clients meet. Offering them an independent assessment before they pay gives your firm a clear, recorded step it can point to.

For banks and payment firms

Every scam stopped is a claim you never pay

Since October 2024, banks and payment firms have shared the cost of reimbursing scam victims, up to £85,000 a claim. When a client recognises a fraudulent firm before paying, there is no loss to reimburse.

For pension schemes and trustees

Independent evidence for every transfer request

Trustees must look for red flags before a transfer goes ahead, including unsolicited contact, pressure on the member and a firm acting without the right regulatory permission. An assessment of the firm behind the request gives trustees and members independent evidence to weigh.

How the partnership works

One Corporate Licence. Shared Access. Independent Assessments.

  1. Open a partner account. Register with your work email, look around, then choose a licence and accept the Partner Licence Agreement inside your account.
  2. Give access to your team and clients. You invite the people who may use the service, and each assessment they run is counted against your allowance.
  3. Each assessment returns a documented result. The details a client has been given are tested in 69 checks against 16 official sources, and the report gives a RISEN or BURNED result with its supporting evidence.

An assessment supports an informed decision. It does not guarantee that a firm is legitimate or remove the risk of fraud.

Customer protection

Give Your Customers Another Layer of Protection.

Your clients are most exposed at the moment a firm they do not know asks for their money. An assessment lets them examine that firm's identity, contact details and payment instructions against the official record before they decide, with your organisation's name behind the service.

Partnership packages

Three Licences, One Standard of Assessment.

Open a partner account with your work email and look around first. The set-up then takes three steps inside your account, saved as you go: choose the licence, give your organisation's details and accept the agreement on screen. The licence starts when your payment is received. Every package uses the same assessment, and no partner, payment or package can change a result.

Questions

Questions About Partnerships.

What does a MetaAshes assessment examine?

An assessment cross-references the details an organisation or its customer has been given about a firm against 16 official sources, including the FCA Register and Warning List, Companies House, HMRC, the ICO and the UK Sanctions List, together with the firm's website, domain registration, telephone numbers and payment details. It applies 69 checks and returns a documented result, RISEN or BURNED, with a report.

Does an assessment guarantee that a firm is legitimate?

No. A RISEN result means that no critical concerns were identified within the information and sources examined at the time of the assessment. It is an evidence-based assessment, not a guarantee, endorsement or determination that a firm is legitimate or suitable, and it cannot detect every fraudulent firm or guarantee that source records are complete.

How does MetaAshes complement existing due diligence?

It adds an independent, documented record of what was checked and what did not align. It supports your existing due-diligence and customer-care processes; it does not replace professional judgement or any regulatory obligation.

How is a corporate licence issued?

The licence is issued to your organisation under a written agreement for a term of twelve months, with an annual allowance of assessments set by your package. Your named administrators are onboarded and trained, access is extended to your clients and client-facing teams, and every assessment they run is drawn from your organisation's allowance.

How are assessment allowances calculated?

Each package includes an annual allowance of assessments: 300, 500 or 800 for Business, 2,000 for Professional and 5,000 for Growth. Every completed assessment counts once. A run that fails for a technical reason is returned to the allowance.

What happens when the included allowance is exceeded?

Assessments continue without interruption and each additional assessment is charged at the package rate: £6.25 for Business 300, £6.00 for Business 500, £5.50 for Business 800, £1.50 for Professional and £1.20 for Growth. Your administrator is alerted at 50, 75, 90 and 100 per cent of the allowance.

Who is the Business package for?

Independent financial advisers, accountants and other smaller firms that want to offer independent firm assessments to a client base of a few hundred. It is sold at three allowances: 300 assessments for £1,875, 500 assessments for £3,000, 800 assessments for £4,400 a year, with up to 2 named users, the partner dashboard, assessment history, report downloads, usage records and standard onboarding.

What is included in Professional?

An annual licence of £10,000 with 2,000 assessments, up to 3 named users, the partner dashboard, assessment history, report downloads, usage records and standard onboarding. The comparison above sets out each item.

What additional access does Growth provide?

A higher allowance of 5,000 assessments, a lower additional rate, up to 5 named users, expanded usage reporting, enhanced onboarding and deployment planning, and scheduled partnership reviews.

What requires an Institutional agreement?

API access, white-labelled reports or a branded portal, embedded customer journeys, multiple teams or business units, single sign-on, contractual service levels and bespoke retention arrangements. None of these is part of the Business, Professional or Growth packages: each is agreed after meetings, discovery and technical scoping, under a written agreement. Findings, their scope and the required disclosures always remain those of MetaAshes.

How do we start a Business, Professional or Growth licence?

Open a partner account with your organisation's own email address, then set up the licence inside the account in three steps that are saved as you go: choose the licence, give your organisation's details, and read and accept the Partner Licence Agreement on screen. We check your company with Companies House at the second step. The licence invoice is emailed straight away and is paid by bank transfer within 14 days, quoting the invoice number. Your licence starts only when we receive the payment: until then you can look around your partner account, and assessments and invitations open on the day the payment reaches us. Assessments above the allowance are invoiced 4 days before each new month begins.

Is standard onboarding included?

Yes. Standard onboarding and training are included in the Business, Professional and Growth packages, with no separate set-up fee. Bespoke implementation, integration or development work is scoped and quoted separately.

How does the complimentary pilot work?

Open a partner account with your organisation's own email address and choose the pilot at the first step. We review every request, and once approved the pilot gives 10 assessments over 7 days in your own account, with no invoice and nothing to cancel. We remind you 2 days before it ends, and you can choose a licence in the same account at any time: your team, your clients and your details are kept.

What information is needed for an institutional discussion?

Your organisation, the people who would use MetaAshes, whether use is internal or customer-facing, an estimate of annual volume, and any integration, branding, security or procurement requirements.

How is information handled?

Enquiry details are used only to respond to you and are kept for up to 24 months after the enquiry is resolved. Assessment data is handled as described in our Privacy Notice; a PDF copy of each report is kept for 48 hours and then permanently deleted.
